ISG Melbourne Escapade

A big thankyou to the crew at SGA for their wonderful hospitality during the ISG Melbourne Escapade Weekend!

The competition was run in late 2014 and two of Trade West’s customers were lucky enough to win the opportunity to spend an all expenses paid weekend in Melbourne.

The weekend included a tour of the SGA manufacturing plant located in Campbellfield. We were treated to an aussie BBQ by the friendly staff of SGA then a very informative and interesting tour of the very modern manufacturing facilities where the famous FLEXOVIT abrasive wheels are manufactured. Saint Gobain is celebrating their 350th year in business and are proud to be an Australian manufacturer and employer. It was great to see and we at Trade West are very proud to support Australian manufacturers such as SGA.

Friday evening was spent at the Mooney Valley races. The perfect man cave with cricket and football on the big screens, horses on the track and plenty of food and beverages. A fun evening had by all.

On Saturday it was off to Calder Park Raceway for the ride of our lives. Six laps in a FastTrack V8 with an experienced race car driver instructing you what to do and believe me there is no comparison between these cars and a standard family car. The handling and speed was amazing, the hardest part was to trust the guy next to you who was giving you the race line and when to brake, turn and accelerate. It was adrenilin pumping and after six laps you are convinced you could take on the V8 super car drivers, that is until you get three laps in the passenger seat with the pro at the wheel. A fantastic day and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fast cars.

Saturday was spent at the Munich Brauhaus German restaurant at South Wharf Promenade with some very thirst quenching brews and tasty food as recommended by one of the locals.

All in all a very memorable weekend with a special thanks to the crew at SGA.
